This book starts with 32 color pages of photographs of stained glass windows and other glassy things by artists from all parts of the world, including countries whose names we haven't mispronounced since the fourth grade. These photos (about 150 of them) are followed by a very brief introduction to "sand carving", a sandblasting technique that apparently results in a bas relief in glass. Then we are presented with about 80 pages of a rather confusing mix of about 60 stained glass patterns and we don't know how many sand carving patterns (we got tired of counting things). It is a confusing mix because the patterns aren't clearly labeled as to which are for sand carving and which are for stained glass. Also, not all the photos have matching patterns, and not all patterns have matching photos. Nonetheless, some match up nicely, and all of them are lovely patterns. 112 pages
